Day 2: What makes you uniquely you?

Oh how I have struggled with this question.  :)  I almost feel that it's something that others should answer about me.  How do you judge what makes yourself unique?  Is it my voice?  Is it my freckles?  Is it my sense of humor?  I suppose all of these small things combined would equal uniqueness.  I think I've often confused unique as something no one else has.  But now I believe that's wrong.  It's a combination of characteristics in one person.

********

I lost my Dad when I was 15.  He passed away from the result of a car accident that happened the day after Christmas of 1996.  He died 12 days later.  Don't get me wrong, I miss my Dad more than words could even begin to express, but I've come to terms with it.  God has been with me every step of the way and continues to be to with me even now.  I know I'm not the only woman who has lost their dad at a young age, but I believe it does give me a unique advantage in helping others who have gone through it.  Its nice to be able to take something bad and use it for good.

I am just going to go down the list here on things that I believe make me unique.  And then I guess you can be the judge.  If you already know me very well then you already know!

1. I have sang since I could talk.  I used to walk around the house as a little girl with a tape recorder singing made up songs into it.  I've never had a voice lesson in my life.  I took one year of choir to get the basics.  I've had some great inspirations in my life along the way.  I believe if you've got the right attitude and an open mind you can learn ways to better yourself and improve. But if you have the mind set that you are the best and have nothing to learn, then you simply wont.  And you'll never get any better.  I used to listen to the recordings after I would sing and I would critique myself and note things that I would change or do better on next time.  That's called homework :)  I give all the credit to God.  He saw fit to bless me with this gift and I just hope that I make Him proud, and that I can continue to use it to praise Him.

2.  I like to scare/prank people!  I know its awful but I can't help it!  Most people know this about me.  And believe it or not, I still have friends haha!  I've loved doing this for as long as I can remember!  I still greatly enjoy it and am blessed to have a husband that doesn't seem to hate me too much for it :) If he has something in his hands when I startle him, it gets thrown into the air!  Seriously!  He once threw cappuccino onto my moms ceiling!  Brian doesn't challenge me too much though, he's pretty easy.  I like to scare my brother because he makes funny noises and I do it to my mom for the faces she makes! I think I gave my friend Jeremy nightmares for a few years of his life!  A friend of mine and I gave our friend Sharon the prank of her life once.  That day went down in history!  I even do it to people I work with!!  I could give you story after story but frankly there are hundreds and I don't have the time!  I have one friend that doesn't react when scared so its no fun at all scaring him... I gave up on that... or did I?

3.  I laugh when people fall down.  I know!  This list keeps getting worse and worse!  But I'm nothing if not honest!  I know there are more of you out there but you just don't want to admit it!!  But in all fairness, I will be the first one to laugh at myself if I fall.  I don't want to see anyone actually hurt themselves.  And I'll be the first one to help someone up.  But after I make sure you're OK, don't hate me for laughing :)  I will stifle it as much as I can in front of a stranger.  Sometimes that even works.

4.  I am obsessed with Supernatural.  And...Jensen Ackles.  I've been watching it since it began 7 seasons ago!  And I've been watching Jensen Ackles since I was a teenager.  I don't really watch a lot of television, but Supernatural is the ONLY show that I just can't miss!!!  I was actually able to go to a Supernatural Convention (shut up!!!) last year in June.  It was unreal!!  I got to meet Jensen and Jared, get their autographs, and I got my picture made with Jensen.  Yes, he put his arm around me, and I him :)  I'll never forget it!

As a side note:  (I asked some people on Facebook to tell me what they thought was unique about me.  My friend Terry responded with this, "You're a woman who speaks her mind and stands up for what you believe in. That's rare."  Well Terry, I am grateful for this compliment. I truly hope that when I'm gone, people will speak that of me.)

5.  I am very passionate.  Everything that I do, I give it my all.  Maybe this is why I am such a perfectionist... hmm, never thought of that...  I love passionately, I cry passionately, I fight passionately, and I laugh, yes, passionately.... Everything I do, I do with passion.  That may or may not always be a good thing.  But I guess its better than lacking passion in all things.  A lot of people are that way it seems.

I'm stubborn, I have strong convictions, I will stand up for you, I am a loyal friend, I am a Razorback fan, I am VERY ticklish, I enjoy art, I hate drama and conflict, I love to be with my friends, I am diabetic, I went to Bryant Schools, I love dogs, I love the country, I am not perfect, I have a temper, I get my feelings hurt easily, I am a Gemini, I require affirmation, I love to laugh, I live in Sheridan, I am so many things... I am a little bit of everything all rolled into one.
